Dana Lis is a Registered Dietitian - B.SC, RD, IOC Dipl. Sport Nutrition. With a lifetime involvement in sports ranging from figure skating, backcountry skiing, to currently competing as a Category 2 road cyclist, Dana has merged her passion for both sport and nutrition to specialize in the field of sport dietetics. Through her commitment to helping athletes optimize nutrition for performance, she has worked across a board range of disciplines (sports and otherwise). Some examples include provincial and national level athletes, the Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Club and even Canadian and American astronauts.
Dana completed her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and her Dietetic Internship at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). Through her clinical nutrition experiences, she has acquired practical skills in several specialty areas including; surgery, pediatrics and diabetes. To further pursue an elite education in sport nutrition Dana is expected to complete the renowned IOC Sports Nutrition Diploma in 2011. In addition, her extensive experience as a personal trainer and instructor has provided her an extensive understanding of the many facets required for sport training.
When Dana is not racing her road bike you can find her skiing the slopes of BC's backcountry on her skis or exploring the back roads in her VW van.
