April Lewis is a registered social worker and professional public speaker with 30 years of experience in health care. 2009 has been a year of transition for her as she has faced many losses simultaneously including the sudden loss of job/career and the end of a long-term marriage, Coupled with mid-life angst and self-doubt she has been forced to re-examine her life as she attempts to regain a sense of balance and self-worth. She embraces the emotions and fear inherent in her personal journey of renaissance.
April is aware she is not alone. There are many women who share her journey. April offers individual counselling and workshops, using a feminist, narrative lens and humour as she helps others reframe their own personal story and create a new one. In the words of poet David Whyte in The Journey, "you are not leaving...you are arriving."
